The energy of the ocean is powerful and invigorating! And it's true that seawater is ideal for waking up the body in spring and bringing it out of hibernation.
With the arrival of warmer weather, we can feel the urge to ‘spring clean’: it helps us get through the change of season and motivates us to get moving.
Although it's quite natural for us to adapt our home or workspace to our new desires (by cleaning from top to bottom, sorting, tidying and decorating), we don't always think about readjusting our beauty and well-being routine to be in harmony with this new state of mind.
In winter, the body was a bit like nature, waiting, resting... So now it's time to give it the resources it needs to regenerate, to ‘renew itself’ and make the most of this beautiful season.
A PERIOD OF TRANSITION FOR THE SKIN
After winter, the skin goes through a sort of moult, and it's during this transitional period that we can suffer from skin disorders: the skin has difficulty adapting to the change of season and new lifestyles, and is stressed and over-reactive.
Sebum production accelerates, and is often the cause of the skin imperfections that appear in early spring.
What's more, in winter, the skin draws on its reserves to fight the cold and temperature variations, so at the end of the season it's duller and more tired.
We don't always think about it, but the first rays of spring sunshine also help to dry out the skin, simply because it's not used to it and still lacks protection!
This is particularly true when the winter has been grey and rainy and we're short of sunlight and therefore vitamin D (an important vitamin for preventing the first sunburns on skin that's already weakened, but also for boosting our natural immunity).
MEETING ALL MY SKIN'S NEEDS IN SPRING
To help your skin get through this period in style, you need to take your needs into account and readjust them.
NEED FOR SUN PROTECTION
Little by little, our skin is being revealed and we're enjoying the first sunny days in the fresh air...
However, at the start of spring, we all too often forget to protect our skin from the sun.
Gradual exposure (a quarter of an hour a day at first) and a suitable sun cream are necessary to avoid sunburn, which would cause serious damage to skin that is not yet used to receiving a large dose of UV rays. Think of it as preparation for summer!
Remember to boost your natural intake of vitamin D by adding vegetable oils (walnut oil, rapeseed oil, etc.) and oily fish (mackerel, sardines, etc.) to your menu.
NEED TO REBALANCE & PURIFY
After winter, we're motivated to do some major cleansing - and that's hardly surprising, as the desire for renewal is strong and galvanising.
But don't forget that the skin also needs to detoxify after those long winter months, to free itself of accumulated toxins and start a new cycle.
The skin is stressed by all these changes (temperatures, sunshine, hormonal influx, etc.) and it lets you know by a series of skin disorders.
Dryness, pimples and blackheads, and a dull complexion are not uncommon in early spring, so it's important to give your skin a thorough cleansing to clear the blemishes and help it revitalise.
Avoid using overly aggressive cleansing products, as they can cause excess sebum and new imperfections...
The best thing to do is to adopt a good daily routine for your morning and evening skin care routine, using a gentle, natural cleanser.
To revive your skin after winter, we recommend using Rose Cleanser every day, a purifying cream and rinse-off cleanser with astringent, healing and purifying properties to help your skin look like new!
NEED FOR LIGHTNESS
At the end of winter, skin can be devitalised and tired, so it needs to be nourished to regain all its vitality and freshness.
Skin care products that are too rich in texture are only suitable in periods of extreme cold. In spring, they will only suffocate the skin and make it oily, which is not really the aim...
However, moisturising your skin should always be at the heart of your beauty routine, whatever the season or the nature of your skin (because oily or combination skin also needs to be moisturised).
Seawater is highly effective at remineralising the skin without weighing it down, as it is perfectly assimilated (it doesn't leave a greasy film) and tolerated by even the most fragile skin.
Our seawater-based moisturisers meet all your skin's needs, so you can look healthy and radiant while delaying cell ageing!
SEAWATER RECHARGES THE BODY AND SKIN WITH ESSENTIAL MINERALS
Not only does isotonic seawater have the natural ability to melt into our skin's cellular environment (without causing disorder), it is also powerful at regenerating it thanks to a remarkable supply of essential minerals.
Used for cosmetic purposes, it is one of the most powerful sources of minerals that can be directly bio-assimilated. It contains no fewer than 99 trace elements and minerals that support the proper functioning of the skin and strengthen the cutaneous barrier.
Finally, to boost your metabolism from within, and if you feel the need (tiredness, diet, deficiency), you can start a Biocean seawater cure: it's a valuable aid to adapting more easily to the changing seasons!
