Advice #55

RELAX: vacation time!

Vacations bring the art of farniente to the fore, and away from our usual routine, our physical and mental well-being becomes the focus of our summer preoccupations.

All we want to do is take time for ourselves, and we're also more motivated to make changes: to eat better, to take care of our bodies and skin to make them look their best (especially since a healthy glow already puts us in a good mood!), to reconnect with our desires, to learn and discover new things, to set up brand-new projects...

It's an important time to recharge your batteries after what's certainly been a busy year, and a busy start to the new school year.

To put your mind in “vacation mode”: think about changing your skincare routine to adapt it to the season and your immediate needs, but also to prevent any skin problems that might arise on your return from vacation (and avoid the famous “rebound effect” after sunbathing spoiling your motivation in the first days of the new school year).

Oceau Marine also advises you to take advantage of this time of idleness to think now about the problems your skin encounters during the rest of the year, and how you can take the initiative to remedy them.

SKIN CARE & RELAXATION

A skincare routine releases tension! The skin is an organ that's very sensitive to touch, and massaging it while applying care soothes the mind and makes it easier to release stress.

And these moments for yourself are just as precious when you don't have the time in the day and your attention is focused on other things.

They're a way of reconciling with your body and learning to love it!

If you didn't already know, several of our treatments are multifunctional, so they can be used as part of a moment of relaxation and help you maintain your mental well-being:

- Relax Isotonic, our remineralizing cream, does wonders for skin hydration on a daily basis, but it can also be used as a gentle massage on points of tension to reduce stress for better sleep and zen.

- Isotonic Relief is a relaxing, soothing cream with St. John's Wort. Not only does it help the skin repair itself, it also provides a sense of well-being when applied to the solar plexus, the back of the neck, the soles of the feet or to soothe the area around the joints.

- Circulate has been specially designed to treat varicose veins and unsightly veins. Its combination of seawater and mistletoe regulates blood pressure and at the same time relieves the pain associated with impatience (which occurs when the weather changes, we're too tired or have spent too much time walking around...). It's a real relief at the end of the day!
day! Combine with Relax Isotonic to maximize effects.

- Sports Cream is your best ally in preventing sports-related muscle pain and stiffness. Slip it into your sports bag to prevent muscle aches and spasms, and warm up muscles before exercise. So you can enjoy your activities without aches and pains!

I've also designed a “facial modeling” guide to teach you the right gestures and help you apply your facial treatments while doing yourself good! It's a gentle, soothing form of drainage that stimulates cell regeneration, helps eliminate toxins and brings maximum comfort. It's time to give it a try this summer! You can download it for free here:

TAKING STOCK OF MY SKIN

In summer, if we take care to protect and moisturize our skin on a daily basis, it often looks more beautiful, especially as the sea air and the tanning process tend to camouflage scars and other imperfections that are more visible on fair skin.

UV rays have a natural anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, which is also thicker.

Nevertheless, untreated skin problems are likely to reappear after the vacations.

Are you fully aware of your skin type (normal, dry, oily or combination) and its specific needs (sensitivity, skin disorders)?

Take the time to find out when you have more time.

What problems do you usually encounter? What skincare routine could you put in place as soon as you get back from vacation, so that you don't have to put up with it for the rest of the time, and above all, so that you can really take charge of these problems?

Don't hesitate to read our customers' feedback under the products on the site, which can help you select the skincare routine that's right for you.

ANTICIPATE THE REBOUND EFFECT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN IN SEPTEMBER & TOP MENTAL PERFORMANCE!

During the summer, remember to lighten up as much as possible on anything that could clog up your skin and cause pimples and blackheads when you return from vacation: get rid of overly blushy, powdery make-up that suffocates the skin's pores, as the summer season lends itself to a more natural look.

Similarly, when it comes to skincare, opt for products without long lists of ingredients (most of which are perfectly useless, but not without danger to our health).

Focus on moisturizing with seawater, which is essential for beautiful skin over the long term.

Remember to better regulate your diet and drink enough water (it's so much easier in summer!): the skin is one of the 5 natural emunctories (skin, liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs) that eliminate toxins and perspiration.

In summer, the sun dries out the skin, the diet is lighter and stress is less of an issue: as a result, there are fewer free radicals, responsible in particular for skin ageing, and the skin is naturally healthier and more beautiful.

But when we return from vacation, if we abandon our good habits (better cellular oxygenation, a healthy, light diet, relaxation and moisturizing natural skincare products), skin problems come back with a vengeance (especially as the tan gradually disappears and the skin thins, the cutaneous barrier is thinner and more fragile, and pimples and blackheads can appear).

Remember that diet plays a key role in beautiful skin, but also that when we're more relaxed, our skin benefits too (stress is at the root of many skin problems!). The care you provide today will have a significant impact tomorrow...

What best practices can you put in place to prevent skin problems? Come and talk to us on our networks and share your feedback on our skin care products!
